Teletask installation connected to Home Assistant

Situation. Teletask is a wired home-automation system: a central unit drives the lighting, sockets and motors. There was no longer a working connection to Home Assistant. The existing community integration had disappeared from the HACS catalogue and no longer worked on recent Home Assistant versions. As a result the installation stayed a closed system: no overarching dashboards, no automations, no voice control.

Approach. The integration was taken over and reworked into a maintained component, installable again through HACS. The component communicates directly with the central unit over the network (Teletask “OPEN DoIP” protocol) via a persistent connection and with real-time status feedback. Supported are lighting (on/off and dimming), switchable outputs, and motors for awnings and shutters (up, down, stop). Included: documentation for each setting, guidance on finding the right addresses, and an update for the changes in Home Assistant 2026.3. A point of attention during installation: the central unit allows one protocol session at a time and requires Teletask’s paid protocol licence.

Result. What was a closed system without a working connection runs again on recent Home Assistant versions. The Teletask installation is now fully visible and controllable in Home Assistant and usable in automations, scenes and dashboards, alongside all the other equipment in the house.
